Oryza Farms sits in the Sacramento Valley of California, just outside of the small farming town of Colusa, near the Sacramento River.   The word Oryza is the Latin name for rice, the principal crop of this region, and we are surrounded by wide vistas of fields with the Sierra Nevada’s and coastal hills respectively framing our sunrises and sunsets.

The breeding operation began 20+ years ago with the beautiful mare My Lili Marlane, whose pedigree can be found in mares and foals on the ranch today.  Other wonderful mares and their foals by various successful sires followed.  The business’ focus sharpened with the acquisition of Mi Barbie Doll as a successful open and amateur English horse in 2000, and then the purchase of our stallion, My Generation (by Apollopalooza) in 2003.

With four broodmares of strong English performance bloodlines producing foals by My Generation, our goal is to create beautiful, talented athletes to compete at all levels in showrings across the country.
